Dingdong Dantes speaks up about Marian Rivera’s ‘pregnancy’ - ABS-CBNNews.com

Controversial actor Dingdong Dantes, one of the country’s most popular male stars, has finally broken his silence on allegation that he got his on-screen partner, actress Marian Rivera, pregnant.

Dantes reiterated Rivera’s statement denying the pregnancy issue.

“Alam niya iyon, sinagot na niya iyon and I don’t want to get into that anymore,” Dantes told abs-cbnNEWS.com during the opening of “Posh Nail and Foot Spa” branch in Makati City.

“As much as possible I really don’t want to get into the middle of everything. Ang sa akin lang I’m always for the truth and the truth will set you free,” Dantes added.

Dantes found himself in the middle of a controversy after his much-publicized break-up with singer-actress Karylle, his girlfriend of three years. The two split up amid rumors romantically linking Dantes to Rivera.

Karylle has repeatedly denied that Rivera was the cause of the break-up but speculations about Dantes and Rivera’s relationship would not die down.

Rumors also had it that the two were already expecting a baby, an issue that resulted in another controversy.

Last Sunday, Karylle guested on ABS-CBN’s weekly entertainment show “The Buzz” where she was asked about the pregnancy issue. As her reply, Karylle said nothing and mysteriously smiled back at host Boy Abunda.

Two days after Karylle’s controversial guesting, Rivera, who was in tears, denied that she was carrying Dantes’s child. She also admitted that she got offended after watching Karylle on the show.

Dantes, on the other hand, said he failed to watch his former girlfriend on “The Buzz” and only heard about it.

“Hindi ko napanood so I don’t want to interpret,” the actor said.

The actor also said that he has yet to talk to Rivera about the pregnancy issue.

“Hindi pa thoroughly kasi nga nagkakataon na pati iyong pangalan ko ay nadadawit. Ang sa akin lang basta alam ko ang facts okay na sa akin iyon hindi na kailangang i-detalye pa,” he said.

This is not the first time that the actor was accused of fathering a child. He had faced the same intrigue when he was still with his former sweetheart, Antoinette Taus.

The actor added that he would rather not get affected by all the controversies haunting him and his on-screen partner.

“Hindi (na ako nasaktan) kasi expected mo na pwedeng mangyari ‘yon… ‘yong lahat ng pagbibintang, paratang, misinterpretation, lahat ng ito ay na-foresee ko na dati iyan. Ako, I’m prepared for these things. At kahit ano pa ang sabihin nila, basta alam ko kung ano ang totoo and I stand for what I believe in, that’s all that matters,” he said.

Status quo

Dantes said that, despite the intrigues, his relationship with Rivera “remains good.”

“’Yong sa amin maganda siya dahil maganda ang sinimulan and I’m hoping that maganda din ang pupuntahan. Pero kung anuman ang mayroon ngayon, [we’re] just maintaining the status quo,” he said.

When asked about the status of their relationship, he said: “Parang corny kapag sinabi mong ‘friends.’ I don’t want to label anything as of this moment.”

On Karylle

There is also no time to talk to Karylle because of their respective work, Dantes said.

“Hindi na din siguro… at busy din [kaya] hindi na kami nag-uusap. Okay kami walang problema, walang problema,” he said.

Dantes, who was recently in Las Vegas to be with his father and watch the bout between Manny Pacquiao and Oscar dela Hoya, confirmed that he and Karylle saw each other in the United States during the boxing match.

“Oo nagkita kami coincidentally. (Nagkasalubong kami) dalawang beses lang doon at tsaka sa airport,” Dantes said.

The actor was also all praises for Karylle, who sang the country’s national anthem during the Pacquiao-dela Hoya fight.

Meanwhile, Dantes said he is spending his Christmas with his family.

Microsoft Releases Open Source Blogging Platform

Today, Microsoft released an alpha version of its own open source content management system, Oxite. The source code for the software is available under the Microsoft Public License. While Microsoft mostly describes Oxite as a blogging platform, the Oxite team also points out that you could use it as a content management system to develop more or less any type of site. Oxite currently powers Microsoft's own Mix Online and also uses some recycled parts from Channel 9 .

Some of the major features of the software include support for Gravatars, pingbacks, trackbacks, RSS feeds, commenting, and the MetaWebLog API (so you can use your favorite blogging client to post to your Oxite blog directly).

The major roadblock for a lot of potential users, however, is that Oxite is an ASP.NET application, and most standard hosting services run Linux servers, which can not run ASP.NET. This, of course, makes sense, given that Oxite is also meant to be a demo for the ASP.NET MVC framework, but it will surely disappoint a lot of users.

Channel 9 has a short interview with the developers that describes some more of the software's features and the history of its development.

Given that Microsoft uses Oxite to run its own Mix Online site on top of Oxite, it must surely be a stable and powerful platform, especially for sites with multiple blogs.

However, it definitely would be too early to say that Microsoft is competing with Wordpress, Typepad, Drupal, or Joomla. There still seem to be a lot of missing pieces and we are not even sure yet if Oxite features an extension architecture that third-party developers would be able to develop for. However, it's nice to see Microsoft release this project under an open source license, even if it is at least partly for self-serving reasons.

You Can Dream Lyrics
(Apl.de.Ap feat. Billy Crawford)

I know a lot of things that you probably going through
And though nobody’s feeling like the way you do
And you won’t talk about it when I say wazzup
I guess that means that you’re down on your luck

No sunshine, just gray skies
And i know it’s so hard just to stay alive
When your whole life’s seems just one lie
But you could make it all, it takes just one try

It’s your life everything they know ain’t seem right
You don’t always have to be right
You don’t always have to be right
You gotta be strong sometimes in your life
If you fall down just know it’s alright
Alright…it’s alright
Alright…it’s alright

Chorus:

Just close your eyes
Remember those gray skies
Just dry your eyes
Coz you can make it baby
You can dream, you can dream, you can dream
